Álava is a paradise for fans of Nordic walking, in fact, more than half of the centres designed specifically for this sports activity in Euskadi are located within our historical territory.
These centres offer routes to enjoy this healthy outdoor activity whilst discovering the rural, cultural, historical and environmental heritage of the various villages.
There are a total of 14 Nordic walking centres covering practically all the regions of Alava and allowing those staying in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Rioja Alavesa, Llanada Alavesa, Montaña Alavesa, Gorbeialdea and Añana to practice this sport. Consequently, anyone who visits Álava have a Nordic Walking route or information point just a short distance from their accommodation.
There are 62 routes available, divided into four levels (very easy, easy, demanding and very demanding), totalling some 600 kilometres. The 14 Nordic Walking Centres in Álava are: Álava Technology Park, Labastida, Zigoitia, Barrundia, Alegría-Dulantzi, Elburgo, Iruraiz-Gauna, Salvatierra, San Millán, Asparrena, Gaubea, Arraia-Maeztu, Campezo and Bernedo.
