The Artium arts centre and museum in Vitoria-Gasteiz will be hosting the first major exhibition devoted to the work of Antoni Muntadas in the Basque Country, under the title Muntadas. Elkarrekiko loturak, interconexiones, interconnessioni.
The show is an analytical, transversal – not retrospective – look at the work of this artist from Barcelona, winner of the national visual arts prize in 2005, over the last four decades.
Since the 70s, Muntadas’ work has attracted attention and opinions concerning issues such as globalisation, transnational capitalism, the microphysics of power, the construction of fear, control devices, public-private relations, the processes that manipulate information and the production of information.
