The twelfth edition of this international gas test will have a participation record with 2,598 athletes: 08.07.2018
With almost 2,600 participants representing 37 nationalities and 50 provinces of the national territory and more than 22,000 overnight stays, the triathlon of the capital of Álava has become a social phenomenon.
This year, as in previous editions, the tour has two types of competition: Full (swimming: 3.8kms, cycling: 180kms and running on foot: 42kms.) And Half (1.9kms.-93kms.-21kms.)
The competition starts in the waters of the Ullibarri-Gamboa reservoir, in the Provincial Park of Landa, an extraordinary scenery that stands out for its ecological value to continue cycling through landscapes of the Llanada Alavesa and the Sierra de Elguea through small towns of great interest cultural and landscape and sharing part of the route along the Camino de Santiago. To finish, the race on foot goes through pedestrian walks and central streets of Vitoria-Gasteiz.
“116 KILOMETERS PER UXUE”
This edition will present a new sporting challenge, “116 kilometers by Uxue”, in which the ex-professional triathlete Hektor Llanos will complete the Half distance of the Triathlon Vitoria-Gasteiz by pulling Uxue Txasko, a fourteen-year-old Vitorian girl with cerebral palsy.
